I’m on a mission to beat the world toughest diseases – one lap at a time.
When my Mum got sick, she was told that she would, and I quote, "look back on this and it will be like a bump in the road"...12 months later she was gone. In that 12 months she suffered like no human being should suffer and no one should have to see their loved ones suffering.
Mum was my best friend and not a day goes by that I don't think of her and miss her, and she has been gone almost 11 years.Â
Whoever it is, when you’re faced with a serious disease, you want the most advanced treatments possible, you want and need hope.Â
That’s why I am taking on the Perkins Plunge to raise vital funds for WA medical research at the Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research.
I’m swimming through the night in the middle of winter to help WA’s best medical researchers. The funds I raise will support the brilliant minds at the Perkins who are committed to finding breakthroughs that will lead to breakthroughs and maybe even cures for the hardest-to-treat diseases.
Whether you join me in the pool (I’d love the company) or contribute to my fundraising page, your generous support matters now but, more importantly, safeguards our future health.
Together, we’re helping WA’s best researchers beat the world’s toughest diseases.
