Georgia Khinsoe

I’m on a mission to beat the world toughest diseases – one lap at a time.

Within your lifetime, cardiovascular disease is likely to impact you or someone you love. I am a PhD researcher at the Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research, working to make aortic valve replacements—a lifesaving treatment for one of the deadliest cardiovascular diseases—safer and more accessible.

At the Perkins, researchers from around the world are making life-changing discoveries in medical research. From developing new cancer treatments and improving diabetes diagnostics to finding the causes of rare genetic diseases, our work has the potential to transform lives.

However, we can't continue this vital research without funding, which makes events like this so important. That’s why a team of fellow researchers, friends, and I are taking on a 12-hour swim to raise funds to support the lifesaving research at the Perkins.

Any contributions to our cause are greatly appreciated!
